UpSpending, Inc. was started in January 2025 by Hollie Brogunier and 2 of her daughters, Allyson and Valarie. Hollie has 25+ years
as a software developer, the last 13 of which were spent building and maintaining a "procure-to-pay" platform
called Adelpo. Essentially, Adelpo is a B2B marketplace where companies can do all their
purchasing in one place, which allows them to streamline their processes and manage their expenses. So, when Hollie went searching for a progressives-only
marketplace and came up empty, it wasn't a big leap to think that she could build one.
After the 2024 presidential election, it became clear that those of us who care deeply about human rights, equality and the environment were going to have to fight for it outside our government. The unelected oligarchs who have purchased seats in our republic are clearly not concerned about every-day Americans or the planet. So we must revolt in the most impactful way we can think of...with our dollars. We must commit to diverting our purchases away from billion-dollar companies and, instead, support only businesses that share our values. UpSpending, Inc. is committed to that cause. We are filed as a public benefit corporation in the state of Tennessee. And we have plans to apply and get certified as a B Corp, the organization whose mission is to "transform the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet." 50% of our profits will be donated to non-profits that are fighting for human rights, environmental protections and campaign finance reform in the US.
